MLB Trade Rumors: Marlins put a very interesting starting pitcher on the block according to : CBS Sports

With the trade deadline only four days away, the Miami Marlins have reportedly made a very interesting starting pitcher available. Cincinnati traded him to the Marlins for prospects over the winter, and now the Marlins are presumably looking to flip him for prospects at the deadline. He is 7-6 with a 3.84 ERA (107 ERA+) and 107 strikeouts in 117 1/3 innings this season. Sources: The Marlins are now open to trading SP Dan Straily and have started telling teams he's available. The starting pitching market is pretty thin at the moment, depending whether the Minnesota Twins make Ervin Santana and Jaime Garcia available.




It may take a top Royals pitching prospect to get Straily, but they could certainly get him with the talent they have in their system. The Royals were rumored to be interested in Straily last year, when he was still a member of the Cincinnati Reds. The Miami Marlins have reportedly told teams they are making some players available, and Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports the Royals are interested in starting pitcher Dan Straily. This has given him some trouble with the long ball, and he has the second-highest home run rate in baseball over that time. The Royals have already pulled off one surprising trade this week, but reportedly they are not finished.

MLB Trade Rumors: Jose Iglesias has been gathering interest

The biggest barrier to trading Iglesias is not his production, but the general demand for a shortstop this season. Even with less batting numbers, any team acquiring Iglesias is probably looking at his glove first. On Thursday, ESPN's Buster Olney reported that some people within the baseball community are expecting Jose Iglesias to be dealt before the deadline on Monday. Known for his defensive wizardry, Iglesias has ranked in the top 10 among qualified in DRS and UZR since 2015. Iglesias will not post outrageous offensive numbers, and his .257/.287/.355 line this season is far from impressive.
